The film is ment to be a film that should work with live music. Composer Randall Meyers wanted children to experience more live music in addition to screening it on a large silver screen. Randall got the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra to play live at the premiere screening at the Norwegian Film Festival in Haugesund in 1999. It was also ment for Øyvind Blunck (the narrator and all the voices) to gesticulate all the figures live on stage. I think it was wise to drop that... But the author Lars Saabye Christensen participated as the narrator. He sat on a bar stool and "rapped" through several of the songs in the film

The film has toured several countries with live music.
In Norway the film was released in cinemas together with a Danish animated film.

The film received the "SILVER NUGGET" for Best Norwegian Film for Children in 1999. One year later it received Best Short Film for Children at the Berlinale.
The film is colorful and different, especially within the design and the technique.
